About Znojmo

Town Znojmo lies on the river Dyje close by Austria border. Znojmo is the second largest town in South Moravia. The convenient climatic conditions are good for viticulture and fruit growing and Znojmo is also famous for pickles.

Proximity of the National Park Podyjí makes Znojmo favorite center for tourists.

Major attractions of Znojmo include the Castle with St. Catherine´s rotunda, the Town Hall tower from 15th century, unique Znojmo catacombs – labyrinth corridor runs under the entire town in lenght of 30 km.

Historical monuments in Znojmo

Znojmo underground – carved in bedrock in the 13th – 17th century

Town hall tower – tourist accessible observation tower

St. Catherine´s rotunda – the rotunda is the last existing monument of Přemyslov´s princely castle in Znojmo.

The castle – dates back to the first half of the 11th century as part of the border forts.
