About village Vrbovec
Vrbovec is village right by the Austria border and is situated in the fertile agricultural land 7 km south from Znojmo. The village has a tradition of winemaking, viticulture is still the most prominent feature.

Ječmeniště – Schatzgraben – area in which was a former village with the same name. Ječmeniště is suprageional bio-center and among other places there is also The almond hillside. It is characterized by grass-herbaceous vegetation of biogeographical significance including specially protected species of flora and fauna.
Little catsle Lampelberk – in vineyard area Ječmeniště on the Czech – Austrian border was built in 1860 on the highest hill in this area. It is from this place is the best view of the countryside (in good weather conditions you can see the peaks of the Alps and Pálava). You can also taste good wine from local production. Cycling trails pass through vineyards and go directly to Lampelberk.
