About the village
Bohutice has a scent of apricots and products made from them: marmalade, jam and apricot brandy. Tasting these delicacies has become part of the summer events in Bohutice repeatedly.
Another tradition here is winegrowing. The vineyard tracts Jelendy and U sv. Michaela vine have been cultivated since the 19th century. Varieties such as Green Veltliner, Sauvignon, Müller – Thurgau thrive here.
The village is located about 30 km from Brno and aswell as Znojmo you can get to it by train (the railway line Brno – Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou passes through here) or by bus. Or you can come here on foot – a destination of pilgrims from far and wide neighbourhoods in the past has become the so called Lourdes grotto, which is part of a great pilgrimage site.
Bohutice chateau with a chapel is surrounded by a large park and is located in the heart of the village.
